career week

earlier in the week..on the 1-3 of July..my school organize a career week talk.

Day 1- everyone had to attend a forum on ' Education Abroad'. In other words, studying away from Malaysia. The school invited a few guest speakers ( that day i was very lame and said there were speakers installed in the hall already. what i mean is the AUDIO speakers). Those speakers were to talk about education at their respective country. The countries were Australia, UK, Canada, Singapore and New Zealand. I was paying attention to a particular section which is COST OF LIVING. Its expected UK will be the most expensive of all..estimated 100,000 pound a year..madness..Just try converting from pounds to ringgit.. ( takes the amount in pounds and multiply it by 6.4..that is how much your parents have to pay). What surprises me was the New Zealand's cost of living...amazingly it was like rm20,000 a year if i'm not mistaken. Nevertheless..i've already made up my mind and study at Monash, Australia.

Day 2 - We had to pick a few talks to go to..wanted to go money management but FULL..so me reggie Jeremy and Edwin went wondering around..As usual we got caught by Mr. Yow. He started nagging at us but we told him that out talk will be later...so he came up with a suggestion that we should have chemistry class =.= .... but luckily mr. ong was beside and told him we already had chem. class..so we went continued wondering around the school until our talk time came..we went for animation..to be honest with you..i have no effffiiinnnggg interest in animation..but i have to admit...the programme used for animating stuff is really cool..And thats about day 2

Day 3 - Knowing that they don't really care which talk you enter..so as usual we would take every opportunity to enter every talk possible. The talk that i went was
1. Career as a pilot
2. Taking chances
3. Marketing

So i went for the first talk which is the pilot talk. To be honest, it was really fun at that talk ( including me and faiz exchanging lame jokes throughout..). i had an obsession for airplanes when i was small..to be exact, when i got my first airplane model..a Malaysian Airlines b777-200 model..

this is the real size..i have the small model.

Actually i would like to become as a pilot. It would be my second choice of job.
Pros and cons of being a pilot:-
Pros:
1. A very HIGH PAY. [ i'm serious..even a second officer( the lowest rank in an airplane) would get 4500 as basic pay excluding daily expenses money..total up..you will get 8000++..as for a captain, he would get up to 40,000 a month basic pay..isn't the pay attractive.]
2. You get to visit many places.
3. You just have to work for 15 days in a month.

Cons:
1. You have to spend less time with your family.
2. Exams, Exams, exams and more exams
3. Becoming a captain takes ages...i mean AGES.
4. Your job is quite risky. Imagine..hundreds of lives at your hands...quite scary....

The 2nd talk was about taking chances..to be honest, i have no freaking idea what was the talk about..as in what is the objective of this talk...so i cannot comment much about that..

The 3rd talk i attended was marketing. It was the worst talk i've ever went throughout the 3 days..godness..it was dead boring..examples used was terrible ( how would you promote a durian..what the efff...). The night before i had my dad explaining to me about marketing..so this talk was just a waste of time...
