This post is dedicated to my late maternal grandmother who passed away last Wednesday. She has been ill for the past month where recently during the raya holidays, she was admitted to the hospital. My mum had to rush back to see her, leaving me behind to study for trial 2. I kind of have the regret feeling of not going back to see her..A month later, she was admitted back to the hospital and finally last Wednesday, she passed away peacefully.
I was both sad and happy in both ways. Sad in the sense that i will not get to see her ever again but happy that i don't have to see her suffer from any illness. During the funeral, i tried to stay strong to support my mum. When we arrive(Thursday), i cried a bit..but that's pretty normal. On the second day(Friday), i was really really busy, cause prayers was held all the way from afternoon till night with intervals in between. I also had to fold loads of 'money' for my grandmother to be used in heaven. The third day(Saturday) which was the day she is to be cremated. Many people attended the funeral in the morning to pay their last respect to her. At around 1 pm, the coffin was placed into the hearse and off to the crematorium. At the crematorium, I didn't really break down until her coffin was pushed into the furnace.
Shortly 1o minutes after that, i had to get change to bright coloured clothes according to the undertaker. After that, the whole family went for lunch nearby. At around 4 pm, we had to return to the crematorium to collect and place her ashes into an urn. I was used to this process cause it was the same thing that happen when my paternal grandfather passed away in 2004.
Definitely she will be in my heart forever and hope that she and my grandfather will bless me for my upcoming SPM examination..
